There is always something going on at CBC. Here is a snippet of what we've been up to recently:
June 2025
Chippy Tea ride Back by popular demand - the CBC chippy tea ride. 18 members met at the Platform Gallery and set off in small groups to Settle. Mother Nature decided we needed a short shower at Wigglesworth, but the rest of the journey was fairly dry. We took over around half of the restaurant at The Fisherman and enjoyed excellent chippy teas, before heading back to Clitheroe. Huge thanks to Gillian for organising the event. |

Club night - talk CBC member Brian, presented a talk about his career in the off-shore oil industry. Brian expertly answered everyone's questions and members were so engrossed that the Q&A session could have carried on all evening! Everyone agreed that this was an amazing insight into a subject that very few people have experience of - thank you Brian! |

March 2025

The journey was documented from travelling to the ferry, through the Netherlands, Germany and northern Poland (and back, of course!). Snowy weather cancels club rides After a spell of cold weather, Mother Nature decided to send us snow. Members donned their walking boots again and enjoyed walks from Barley and Sabden to make the most of the great outdoors. Of course, we had to have a cafe stop - we may be walkers this week, but we're cyclists at heart. |

November 2024
Quiz night Our annual quiz night was held at the Rugby Club in Clitheroe with club chairman, Robert taking on the role of quiz master. Members enjoyed testing their brains on Robert's questions, and the supper that was provided. Members of North West Air Ambulance were invited to take part, before they received a donation from the club. |

September 2024
Kite Festival Ride 16 riders took part in the annual club ride to the Kite Festival at St Annes. It was ideal conditions for kite flying i.e. windy with a strong headwind for the outward journey. The return journey provided a tail wind through winding lanes back to Clitheroe. Lots of fabulous kites to see and a good cafe stop in Lowther Park |

August 2024
Annual Blackpool photoshoot ride Two groups of CBC members set off in grim conditions to ride to Blackpool for the annual photo with the Tower. The weather brightened up as the neared Blackpool and the two groups met in Stanley Park for lunch at the Pavilion cafe, followed by the traditional group photo with Blackpool Tower. |

August 2024
The Day of the Century A dry start was followed by a drenching at Inglewhite. Luckily the sun came out later, as CBC members approached the coast. A choppy ferry crossing at Knott End was followed by a hairy ride to St. Annes (the waves were coming over the sea wall). After that, a welcome tail wind took everyone home. Congratulations to all on their 100 mile ride. |
