There is always something going on at CBC. Here is a snippet of what we've been up to recently:

Summer 2025
Off on our travels When the summer comes around, there's nothing better than going on holiday with your best friend (and maybe another human or two). This summer, CBC members have been visiting places far and wide with their bikes, including France, Sweden, Coniston, Hawkshead and Edinburgh. |

August 2025
Lytham Kite Festival There was a smaller than usual turnout for our annual ride to the Lytham Kite Festival because the weather forecast was poor. Happily, Mother Nature was kinder than the forecast and riders enjoyed the spectacle of the kites before visiting Lytham Kitchen for refreshment. |

July 2025
The Day of the Century The annual Day of the Century ride fell on one of the hottest days of the year. Riders (including 7 first-time 100 milers) slapped on the sun cream and headed off in groups to meet up for the first stop in Carnforth before progressing to Morecambe for ice cream, then Eccleston for further refreshment. Other groups completed 100km rides in the opposite direction - venturing into Yorkshire for the day. |

June 2025
Chippy Tea ride Back by popular demand - the CBC chippy tea ride. 18 members met at the Platform Gallery and set off in small groups to Settle. Mother Nature decided we needed a short, sharp shower at Wigglesworth, but the rest of the journey was fairly dry. We took over half of the restaurant at The Fisherman and enjoyed excellent chippy teas, before heading back to Clitheroe. Huge thanks to Gillian for organising the event. |

April 2025
Club night - talk CBC member Brian, presented a talk about his career in the off-shore oil industry. Brian expertly answered everyone's questions and members were so engrossed that the Q&A session could have carried on all evening! Everyone agreed that this was an amazing insight into a subject that very few people have experience of - thank you Brian! |

March 2025
Club night - talk CBC chair Robert gave a talk about his 2024 bike tour of Poland. The journey was documented from travelling to the ferry, through the Netherlands, Germany and northern Poland (and back, of course!). Members enjoyed listening to Robert's exploits and the photographs brought the stories to life - thank you Robert! |

February 2025
2024 Awards Evening CBC members gathered at the Rugby Club function room to celebrate the achievements of 2024. Trophies and prizes were awarded and members watched a slideshow of photos from 2024 whilst listening to music provided by Craig. Members, then enjoyed a supper and social evening. |

January 2025
Snowy weather cancels club rides After a spell of cold weather, Mother Nature decided to send us snow. Members donned their walking boots again and enjoyed walks from Barley and Sabden to make the most of the great outdoors. Of course, we had to have a cafe stop - we may be walkers this week, but we're cyclists at heart. |

November 2024
Quiz night Our annual quiz night was held at the Rugby Club in Clitheroe with club chairman, Robert taking on the role of quiz master. Members enjoyed testing their brains on Robert's questions, and the supper that was provided.
